Triumph Bonneville T100 Spirit Of 59
Triumph Bonneville T100 Spirit Of 59
Triumph is celebrating the launch of the original Triumph Bonneville in a number of ways this year. The model was originally revealed to the world in 1959, and it's now 59 years since the motorcycle icon appeared. So the British motorcycle manufacturer has now released Triumph T120 and T100 Bonneville Spirit of '59 Limited Editions. And there will be just 59 of each bike available to order through your local dealer.
To recapture the spirit of the original 1959 T120 Bonneville 650, and the current retro craze, the two special editions get classic blue and orange paint schemes. Plus decals to mark out the bikes as different to the standard new 2018 Triumph Bonnevilles.

The current Bonneville T120 and T120 Black sit at the top of the range with their 1200cc parallel twin engines. It gives them more power and more torque than previous models, particularly lower in the rev range. And despite the classic look, you get ABS, ride-by-wire, selectable riding modes. Plus modern handling, brakes and more.
The 2018 Triumph Bonneville T120 Spirit of '59 limited edition is mechanically the same. But the retro blue and orange paint follows the lines and contours of the motorcycle rather than going for the more traditional split down the centre of the tank.
The special edition decals include a sticker on the tank stating that it's a Spirit of '59 edition. There's no word on exact pricing compared to the normal £10,300 starting price of the Triumph Bonneville T120 and T120 Black.

The 900cc Triumph Bonneville T100 actually stands out more in the Spirit of '59 edition. Mainly due to the more noticeable version of the blue and orange paint scheme. Which this time is on top of an Opal White base.
It's also slightly more noticeable as the Bonneville T100 gets a big Spirit of '59 sticker on each side panel.
Plus the 2018 Triumph Bonneville T100 Spirit of '59 limited edition also gets the obligatory tank decal. This time it's actually numbered, which is a nice touch. Who knows why that wasn't also applied to the T120?
Still, the special paint job does suit the Bonneville rather nicely with the narrower orange and blue complimenting the offset petrol cap. Again, Triumph haven't revealed if there's a premium over the £8,700 standard T100 and T120 price.
Triumph T120 and T100 Bonneville Spirit of '59 Limited Editions Incentives:
There is an additional bonus if you do purchase of the special edition Spirit of '59 Bonnevilles. You'll automatically be entered into a prize draw to potentially win a Hedon Hedonist Knight White helmet. Those helmets usually start at around £309.
And if you take a test ride on any Triumph Modern Classic motorcycle before the end of June 2018, you could also win an exclusive Spirit of '59 painted fuel tank to put on your bike, living room wall, or anywhere else you fancy.
If you are thinking about a Triumph Modern Classic test ride, then actually you should get in before the end of April 2018. The reason is that Triumph has also partnered with British contemporary artist and bike fan D*Face. He's created three art-inspired customs from the range based on a Triumph Thruxton R, a Triumph Bobber Black and a Triumph Bonneville T120.
They've been created in conjunction with the Triumph team at Hinckley. And given the mix of street and pop art on the bikes, could become pretty collectible in the future. And to be entered into the prize draw to win one, you just need to take a test ride before April 30th.
Paul Lilly, General Manager, Triumph Motorcycles UK & Ireland, said: "The Spirit of '59 campaign is a great way to celebrate Triumph's iconic heritage. Styled to conjure memories of the iconic '59 Bonneville, the special edition motorcycles hark back to a defining era in our history. We can't wait to see the positive reaction when they hit showrooms across the UK."
